The breakfast was delicious and superb with good choice of well presented food. The room was impeccably clean and updated with modern bathrooms, balcony and elegant design, had the best night sleep. The location was marvellous for walking around Dorp Street.
The setting was terrible.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was larger than expected, with a fireplace and lovely four poster bed. The food at the restaurant was excellent, and the breakfast was very good.
The TV reception in the room wasn't very good.

Excellent location. Very close to restaurants, bars and shops. Also within walking distance of the University. Very friendly and helpful staff. Off-street parking, which is useful in an area in which it is often difficult to find parking. We have stayed here a number of times and the rooms are all different, which is part of the charm, but some are nicer or lighter or bigger than others. The breakfast, which is included in the price, is excellent and offers a wide choice.

The room : we stayed in no 2 and it was beautifully appointed. Great bathroom :) ... would have liked to see the interior of the other rooms but sadly there was no time.

The hotel had a fantastic location, made it
Easy to explore Stellenbosch on foot. The staff were friendly and helpful. The pool area could have been better maintained as there was some debris present .

Quaint hotel, friendly staff, good restaurant, nice courtyard, great location.
Would have liked to know that staying in area where renovations seem to be in progress. And that it's not in main hotel, meaning that if it was raining, we would have been been wet and climbing up and down wet, slippery stairs.

Location-walked around the town at night & travelled the Winelands during the day. Also, the breakfast was very nice
We booked in the oak apartments but they gave us a standard room, We were only staying for 2 nights & not planning on spending much time in the room, so did not complain, But I was suprised that they did not mention the change to us, Would like electricqal outlets in the bathroom for hair dryer etc..

great spot for city strolls and park views in stellenbosch
The location is unbeatable for walking to nearby attractions like the dutch reform church and enjoying good meals at java cafe. The comfortable rooms make it a perfect base for exploring. As a solo traveler, i appreciated the kind staff and the nice breakfast buffet. But the coffee situation could use some improvement since it was quite slow to get a decent cup.

Very friendly stuff and helpful people for the garage
Internet. I was there for work and slept at the first floor where the internet coverage is pratically absent.Just adding a wireless router would solve the issue.

The staff was extraordinary friendly and the service fantastic. Excellent location 2 minutes from everything in the town centre and yet no noise. Very good atmosfere.
The garden restaurant was shadowed by overhanging wine plants and trees, but leaves etc fell down onto the tables etc, wich lowered the comfort. Maybe a net under the trees could catch the leaves?

D'Ouwe werf is beautifully located in the middle of bustling and historic Stellenbosch. There are plenty of nice restaurants in the area and you can explore the town very easily on foot, starting at your hotel. free parking is available. The concierge, John, is fantastic in offering advice and help with your trip. The hotel is great value for money. It is located in the oldest inn of South Africa, in a beautiful Cape Dutch style house and has spacious rooms with very nice Cape Dutch furniture. Breakfast is succulent and served on a nice and big courtyard. Also, the relaxing area near the pool is very nice if you want to sit down after exploring the beautiful town and its surroundings.
The pool is very small and cold
